Again a shameful act by the Brahminical-Merito-Patriarchal goondas.
We came to know that Anoop Kumar, resident of Sutlej hostel is being harassed by the casteist goons and the brahminical administration of JNU. Anoop Kumar is an activist who has taken part in the fight to ensure social justice in JNU campus. His neighboring residents harassed him as the moral police of JNU. They taunt him, saying that ‘the hostel is being spoiled and it has to be clean’. These casteist and the agent of moral police complained against Anoop to the senior warden of Sutlej hostel and levelled false accusations against him. The warden directly came to Anoop’s room and warned him saying that some residents were disturbed by his misdeed. Further the warden and the warden asked him not to invite his any friend in his room.
From the above incident it is very clear that the democratic and progressive atmosphere of the campus is shrinking rapidly. JNU is still hegemonised by upper caste/class and tamed to religious fascism. When the students belonging to marginal sections of the society assert their rights and show their commitment for social justice, the casteist forces of the campus cook every conspiracy against the assertive students who are fighting for a gender-just and a caste free society. We have not forgotten these patriarchal-casteist forces who abused the AIBSF’s activists for helping Shruti Thakur, MA, Spanish, JNU, against her manuvadi parents. In that occasion they had threatened by saying, “you are neither her family members, nor of her caste, then why are you interfering in this matter?” The matter of purity and pollution is very important for these castist goondas. They shed crocodile tears on caste atrocities to mislead other students but never fight against it.
We,the student of JNU warns the JNU administration that any caste-inclined act would not be borne bythe progressive students of this campus. We demand that all these casteist goondas as the name mentioned by Anoop in his complaint, must be punished immediately, We appeal to JNUites to cooperate in the case of Anoop and show their solidarity for a gender-just and egalitarian campus.
